This article is for use with Single User installations, Citrix/Terminal Server installations, and workstations using data locally on a multi-user installation. If there are issues with client speed on a workstation with shared data/settings on a multi-user installation, please see this article: Why is my multi-user workstation install so slow?
PC*MILER relies heavily on the single core CPU processing speed for loading the client UI along with all data, custom places, and applicable add-ons. The PC*MILER UI does not utilize multiple cores except in particular instances. If Local Data is already being used, here are some possible solutions:
- If using a virtual environment, increase the CPU processing speed available.
- Log out of PC*MILER ContentTools prior to ending your session.
- Uninstall unused Data Sets
- Check Custom Places for redundant or duplicate places and remove them
