PC*MILER Web's traffic feature can help you identify in real-time where roads are closed due to damage from hurricanes or other severe weather. To turn on this feature:
- Before entering the stops on your route in the route window, select the Arrival/Departure drop-down, check the box next to Use Traffic, and select Depart Now.
- As PC*MILER calculates the route, it will look for any current road closures. Closures can be seen in the route window or by selecting Reports.
In the example below, a route to Sanibel Island, Fla., on the morning of Sept. 29, 2022, shows a closure on the section of Sanibel Causeway wiped out by Hurricane Ian.
The same closure is also shown in a Detailed Route report, which is opened by selecting the Reports button.
On the Map
To view road closures on the map, turn on the Traffic Layer, under Map Layers at the top of the PC*MILER screen. Closed roads are highlighted in black.
