PC*MILER 30: Updates & Patches : PC*MILER

If a PC*MILER product was purchased along with signing up for the ALK Annual Support & Update Program (AUP license purchase), customers are entitled to use PC*MILER during the term of their agreement and also to receive data updates when and if available. AUP licensed users will have access to the base version data set as well as to more recently released data sets as they are available.

For those who do not sign up for the AUP, PC*MILER is purchased as a Perpetual license which entitles the licensed user to available software patches released for the purchased version. For more information on upgrading a Perpetual license to an AUP license, please contact an Enterprise Solutions account executive at 800-377-6453 ext. 1 or email sales@alk.com.

To check if an update is available to your license type, in PC*MILER select the Help Ribbon, then Check for Updates and then follow the prompts on the screen. Before an update begins, close all open instances of PC*MILER. If you have a third-party program open that accesses any PC*MILER component (e.g. PC*MILER|Connect or PC*MILER|Mapping), please close them before continuing.

Updating Workstation Installation: For workstation installations, first follow the steps to install updates on the Server. Next, to keep all workstations in sync with what is running on the Server, run the Updater on each workstation to install the same updates and/or patches.

**PC*MILER 30 Map Data Update Override to the 17Q1 Data Update**

This update includes a map data update override available for PC*MILER 30 to Annual Support & Update Program (AUP) licensed users. It includes a map data override to reopen the closed portion of the New Jersey Turnpike at Exit 6 (for the Pennsylvania Turnpike) that was released in the 2017 Q1 North America Map Data Update (17Q1 Data Update).

IMPORTANT NOTE:
The 2017 Q1 North America Map Data Update (17Q1 Data Update) must first be downloaded and installed. This update will then patch the necessary files to correct the map data issue identified.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Installing this map data update won't overwrite the existing map data released with the initial launch of PC*MILER 30, referred to as the "NA Base" data set. Instead, the update data set – referred to as the "NA Latest" data set – is installed separately and activated by default in the Map > Change Data Set menu. You may want to keep the base data set active or stay up-to-date by using the latest data set. After installing the update, please go to the Map > Change Data Set menu to confirm that the desired map data set is selected.

Please also download and install the PC*MILER 30 Map Data Update Override to the 17Q1 Data Update after this update is installed to correct a map data issue in this data set.

**PC*MILER 30 Map Data Update Override to the 16Q4 Data Update**

It fixes incorrectly assigned one-way road designations in certain areas within the state of Florida and Washington that were found in the 2016 Q4 North America Map Data Update (16Q4 Data Update).

The 2016 Q4 North America Map Data Update (16Q4 Data Update) must first be downloaded and installed. This update will then patch the necessary files to correct the map data issue identified.
